Abstract:
GIS Layer representation of the State Route Centerline Road Network for the Connecticut Department of Transportation
-
Purpose: Generated to maintain the official state network mileage for the State of Connecticut

Other maintenance requirements: During the year changes to the network are done internally within Roadway Inventory throughout the year. Once the network is finalized for the LRS submission to FHWA, the data is published for consumption with an as of date on the last day of Dec of the year of edits. Currently, there is an approximate 6 month gap in calendar date to a published release in order for finalization and QA/QC on the network. (Example a 2016 network is published around June 15th 2017 with an as of date 12/31/2016.

Constraints:
-
-
Limitations of use: This layer is developed for internal CTDOT use, is a cartographic rendering of DOT Roadway Inventory records. It should not be referenced or incorporated in any manner in any legal document or proceedings. The data is collectedwith an accuracy of .01 and the begin and end of routes are at the lateral extension of the curb cut and therefore when the 3d collection is brought into a 2d LRS environment, the fist and last segements will have a measurement distribution of the first and last segements that may appear visually to be misaligned.

Description: The layer depicting the state route network was developed using federal guidelines of ARNOLD and MIRE. Some internal decisions are made on a case by case basis as it best suits the need for the development of a statewide LRS
